Who opens a case

Why it comes first

One number, asked for at every turn in Zaragoza

Zaragoza runs on logistics, industry and its university. Warehouse leads, maintenance technicians, engineers, researchers and students land here all year with a contract or an admission letter, and the first thing every one of them is asked for is a NIE. Payroll, the social security number, a bank account and a lease in your own name all depend on it.

Getting the number is not hard. The friction is in the sequence: picking the form that matches your situation, paying the fee under the right option, catching a slot on the cita previa portal, and walking in with a complete folder. We package all of it as one case with a visible status, so at any moment you can see what is done and what is next.

You will be asked for it to…

  • Sign your contract and land on the payroll
  • Get a social security number before the first shift
  • Open a Spanish account for your salary or grant
  • Rent in Delicias, Actur or the Centro under your own name
  • Enrol at the Universidad de Zaragoza
  • Buy, register or insure a car
  • Declare income or go self-employed
  • Buy a flat before a Zaragoza notary

How a case runs

Four stages. One status you can always check.

Every case follows the same pipeline. Each stage has an owner, a status pill and a clear finish line.

  1. Documents

    Stage 1 of 4

Your document list, written for you

Describe your move in a few lines. You get back the list that matches your case, with what you already hold ticked off and each gap flagged, from the proof of your reason down to the passport copy.

  2. Fee

    Stage 2 of 4

    Forms drafted, fee form generated

We draft the right form for you (EX-15, EX-17, EX-18 or EX-19) straight from your passport data, and generate the Modelo 790, código 012, ready for you to pay at a bank or online.

  3. Cita previa

    Stage 3 of 4

Slot search on the official portal

We keep checking the portal for a Zaragoza appointment under the police procedure your case needs, and book it in your name the moment a slot opens.

  4. Appointment

    Stage 4 of 4

    Walk in briefed

A few days ahead, you receive the address, a checklist and a short run-through of the desk. Bring the originals; the rest has been rehearsed.

Local guide

Extranjería in Zaragoza, mapped

Where each procedure happens in the province, how to plan the trip, and the town hall step that runs alongside. Addresses and hours come from the official pages, linked on every card.

Police foreigner procedures for the province run through two units: the Brigada Provincial de Extranjería y Fronteras, Avda. de Valencia n.º 50 in Zaragoza, and the Comisaría de Calatayud. Our cases come from every corner of the city, from the Casco Histórico and Delicias to Actur-Rey Fernando, Valdespartera or Las Fuentes, and from the towns around it such as Utebo, Cuarte de Huerva, La Puebla de Alfindén or Zuera. Live in Huesca? The booking portal asks for your province before anything else, so we confirm which one your address falls under before a single slot is reserved.

Avenida de Valencia 50, before you go

  • The council lists the same address as the Comisaría de Distrito Zaragoza Delicias: ask for extranjería at the door.
  • The Oficina de Extranjería of the Delegación, Calle Obispo Covarrubias s/n, shares the 50005 postcode: check which address your confirmation names.
  • Bus stops on the avenue are named after numbers 38 and 41, not 50. The council's route planner gives the way from where you start.

FAQ

Cita previa, offices, documents: quick answers

Three pieces, then one visit: form EX-15, the Modelo 790 (código 012) paid, and a cita previa for the NIE procedure in the province of Zaragoza. At the desk you show your passport, the form, the paid fee and the document behind your request. We assemble the file and hunt for the slot.

At the Brigada Provincial de Extranjería y Fronteras, Avda. de Valencia n.º 50, 50005 Zaragoza. Its policia.es page lists NIE assignments, EU registration, TIE issue and autorizaciones de regreso among its procedures, and gives no opening hours: turn up at the time on your confirmation.

Open the administration's portal, sede.administracionespublicas.gob.es, select Zaragoza as the province, pick the police procedure that fits your case and type in your passport details. An empty screen means no slot right now, not no slot ever: look again later, or let us do the looking.

EX-15, passport or EU identity card plus a copy, the Modelo 790-012 already paid, and evidence of your reason: an offer letter, an admission, a purchase. Some situations add items; your case lists yours.

The police take the NIE, the EU registration and the TIE: the Brigada Provincial at Avda. de Valencia n.º 50, and the Comisaría de Calatayud for the NIE and the TIE. Work and family authorisations go to the Delegación del Gobierno's Oficina de Extranjería on Calle Obispo Covarrubias.

Wherever TIE issue is on the police list: the Brigada on Avenida de Valencia, or the Comisaría de Calatayud. The fingerprint appointment is booked like any cita previa, under the province of Zaragoza.

Not at the Oficina de Relaciones con la Ciudadanía, Plaza del Pilar 18, which is walk-in. District Juntas take walk-ins from 09:30 to 13:30 and appointments earlier in the morning.

One is a number, the other a card. Every foreigner dealing with Spain gets the number; the TIE is the photo card of non-EU residents, printed with it. EU residents receive the green registration certificate instead.

Yes, with a documented reason such as a purchase or a contract. Spanish consulates abroad accept the request as well.
